Spiritual Direction
In Spiritual Direction, the director helps the person notice and respond to the movement of God. Our concern is with the whole person and the entire faith life: body, mind, and spirit. If you have a gnawing hunger for something more in life, or want to explore new ways to pray; If prayer has become difficult, or God seems absent; If there is an important life decision you need to make; call Queen’s House and you will be forwarded to someone who will set up an initial interview with you and talk over your desires and hopes.
Queen’s House Spiritual Directors are trained, experienced and available to meet with individuals desiring a companion to help them become aware of God’s presence and action in their life. After an initial free interview, an offering of $25-$45 is requested or as arranged with the Director.

Directed Retreats re adapted to individual needs. Choose your own dates or the ones listed below and meet with a spiritual director once daily. Scripture reflection and restful privacy will help you to better discern God’s unique call of personal renewal. Cost is $1O5 per day (includes accommodation, meals and time with a Spiritual Director; all directed retreats are live-in) or as listed below. The following are the planned Silent Directed Retreats available to you this coming year:

Take a small vacation with God. Join with others in prayer and meet with a Spiritual Director daily. This is a time to pray, reflect, rest, be outdoors and nourish your body and spirit.
Private Retreats allow you to set your own schedule and personal agenda of prayer, quiet and reflection. Cost is $80 per day (includes accommodation and meals).

Spiritual Direction Coordinator
A life-long seeker especially through the pathways of darkness - more than 25 years of experience as Prayer Companion, Spiritual Director, directed and guided retreats - is familiar with many Christian spiritualities and tools of spiritual growth, such as, the dark nights of John of the Cross, Ignatian desolation and/or consolation, journaling, mandalas, etc - personally shaped by women mystics of the 12 to 14 centuries - presently Coordinator of Spiritual Direction and Directed Retreats.

Viola Bens, OSE
Viola obtained her training as a Spiritual Director at the Institute for Spiritual Leadership in Chicago - believes that God desires a deep relationship with every person and is a guiding presence in all the events of life - that the spiritual director is a companion on the inner journey of discovery and response to that Divine Presence in both prayer and life’s events - has experience and is available to those wishing to complete the 5th Step in any 12 Step Program.

Marijka Konderewicz, SSMI
Marijka obtained her diploma in Spiritual Direction at Regis College, Toronto - is familiar with the Ignatian Exercises, 12-step recovery and other tools of spiritual awareness and growth - has a certificate in Eastern Christian studies and Masters of Arts in Ministry and Spirituality - as a spiritual companion has journeyed with others who seek the inner journey towards wholeness and healing - is fluent in English and Ukrainian.

Albina Labonte, PM (on sabbatical 2O1O-11)
Albina obtained her training as a Spiritual Director at the Institute for Spritual Leadership in Chicago - has a strong belief that persons come to a deeper understanding of God's action through the telling of story in the presence of someone who listens reverently and with gentleness - is familar with tools of self-knowledge such as focusing, dreamwork, etc, - considers it a privilege to accompany someone on a spiritual journey - is fluent in English and in French.

Dianne Mantyka, MDIV
For Dianne the spiritual journey is about discovering all one is created to be in relation to God, self and others. Background includes; Biology, Animal Health, Missions and 19 years of campus ministry. Formation includes theology (Regent College, STU), Queen’s House Spiritual Direction Formation Program, Ignation Exercises, Intensive Centering Prayer, Returning to Spirit, Elijah House Prayer Ministry. Married 11 years, 2 grown step-children. Sources of joy include her cat, nature, animals, reading, conversation, hospitality, cultural diversity, ecumenism and creativity.

Virginia Scissons, NDS
Virginia is a graduate of the Spiritual Direction Formation Program at Queen’s House - has received spiritual direction for many years - believes that the deepest desires which God has for us are also the deepest desires which we have for ourselves - has some knowledge of First Nations and Jewish spiritualities - works with the Saskatoon Diocesan Justice and Peace Office and Clean Green, SK - lives on a farm with her beloved animals.
